One Wedding and an Idea
When Laura and Steven married, they wanted to give their guests a taste of the Med, so they shipped over cases of Sicilian wine. For months after, their guests begged them for more... and an idea was born.
Building Friendships
Laura, on frequent visits back to Sicily, renews acquaintances with local winemakers, making agreements to bring their wines to Scotland.
A Bistro is Born
Laura and Steven open the doors of La Sicilyana Bistro, serving authentic Italian food and Sicilian wine to enthusiastic customers
Wine Online
In response to incredible demand from visitors to the Bistro, Laura and Steven start selling their Sicilian wines online, building a loyal army of customers throughout the UK.

I love this wine. It’s such a great all rounder. Sometimes that can be an insult but it certainly isn’t in this case. The 2022 vintage was exceptional and I’m upset there is no more about so I was delighted to find this vintage and while the 2024 is not yet as good I feel it will be in a year or so.

A well balanced wine with a lovely dry citrus feel. Awesome with fish such Lemon Sole with a sorrel sauce. But also a wonderful wine to drink with friends. Lovely!

Lovely beer quick delivery
For a single varietal - Carricante - this wine has remarkable complexity and minerality. Had risotto this evening and it was a delightful wine throughout. Medium acidity and nice finish. The soil must have a nice influence on this varietal

A true Scot, in love with both his wife Laura and all things Sicily - especially the wines! Steven is the team leader and the Admin boss, making sure your orders are sent out promptly. He used to run marathons, but now he runs the wine business instead - and he says that marathons were easier!

Emily is in love with Sicily and its food and wine, having spent several holidays there with her family. Her free time is dedicated to her adorable pets Patch (the dog) and Tweedle (the cat)! Emily takes care so that your wine is safely packed and arrives in perfect condition, as quickly as possible.

Sommelier
Paola is the heart of our Sicilian team and Laura's younger sister. With a diploma in Wine Tasting and Sommelier, Paola regularly tours the Island with Laura, organising the tasting agenda and taking care of the suppliers. Their (very) volcanic after-dinner conversations about wine are epic!

With his friendly advice, when a great Sicilian wine is out there, Enzo will waste no time to make plans for us to visit the winery and taste his latest discovery! When in Sicily, Laura, with Paola and Enzo have regular wine tasting sessions to debate over the richest flavor and tannins!
